Gateway at Old Ford Lock Commissioned by British Waterways

The commission was for the design, manufacture and installation of a gateway feature to provide access and welcome the public to the canal side. Our design includes railings, a gate and three lighting features to transform this site. The pieces have been directly inspired by the waterside location of the lockside and the architecture of the lock machinery. The artwork in the internally lit beacons was made by school children from Old Ford Primary and St Dominics Junior School, Hackney during workshops..
